WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

At Journi we’re building an app that allows customers to create beautiful photo books and other print products without effort. Using AI technology, we automatically create personalized designs based on the content our users want to print. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Senior DevOps Engineer who is passionate about building great products and loves being part of a motivated team of internationals.

➤ WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Work as a DevOps Engineer and develop the infrastructure of a fast-growing startup hosted on AWS

• Help us improve and scale our architecture to meet demand, and maintain our infrastructure using Terraform / IaC.

• Work together with the backend team on our core services

• Give and receive feedback, criticize constructively and foster an environment for constant improvement

• Enrich our Journi team with your knowledge

➤ YOUR BAG OF TRICKS

• 3+ years of DevOps experience with AWS cloud services and monitoring tools, including most of the following services: CloudFront, ECS, RDS, Redis, S3, SQS

• A good understanding of of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins)

• Consistent track record of developing backend applications

• Interested in learning Scala (the main language we use to develop our core backend service)

• You have strong communication skills

• You are a self-starter with a strong ‘hands-on’ mentality & passion for solving problems

• You work efficiently, prioritize workloads, and meet critical project deadlines

• You are constantly learning, asking for feedback, and self-motivated

• You are permitted to work in the EU/Austria (OR have a degree in Computer Science which is required to apply for an Austrian work permit)

• You are able to relocate to / based in Vienna - the world’s most liveable city!

• Experience with the following technologies: PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Terraform
