Senior Android Developer

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Senior Android Developer who is passionate about building great products and loves being part of a motivated team of internationals.

➤ What you will do

• Work as an android developer in a cross functional product team, building new features for our android app.

• Maintain and improve the code base and existing features, and provide internal support for our android app.

• Ensure the quality of your work writing automated tests. Maintain our CI/CD pipeline and our monitoring stack. React and fix issues when needed.

• Bring your expertise and knowledge, give feedback to peers, share new ideas and make improvements to our processes.

➤ Your bag of tricks 

• 5+ years of experience developing consumer-facing Android apps

• At least 2 years of experience with Kotlin and coroutines.

• A good understanding of data streams and the reactive programming paradigm.

• Professional experience writing tests and ensuring the quality of your code.

• Experience with automated unit and UI testing and deployment processes

• You are a strong communicator & have good presentation skills

• You are constantly learning, asking for feedback, and are self-motivated

• You are proactive and take ownership of your work

• You are able to relocate to / based in Vienna - the world’s most liveable city!

➤ Nice to have

(We expect you to address at least four of the mentioned points)

• Experience with and good understanding of the declarative UI paradigm, ideally with Jetpack compose, which you would be using here.

• Experience with UI tests.

• Experience working with images. You are familiar with memory usage concerns such as bitmap pooling, recycling, displaying or resizing big images. Experience with image loading libraries, image caching and image processing.

• Experience with dependency injection with Hilt or Dagger (we use Hilt).

• Experience with and a good understanding of SQLite, ideally with Room.

• Experience optimizing apps, build pipelines and build times, test runtimes, etc.

• Experience working with a CI/CD pipeline.

• Knowledge of android UI/UX, common designs and navigation patterns, accessibility, and willingness to cooperate with designers to build the best user experience.

• You have a degree in Computer Science
